How long do cookies stay fresh?

How long do cookies stay fresh?

I don't want to hand out stale cookies for our favors. At the same time, I don't want to be wrapping favor boxes the day before our wedding.

I don't want packaged cookies either. They will be from a bakery.

They don't last long enough in our house to find out.

There must be places that wrap the cookies themselves. It might cost a bit more, but I can tell you from experience, it could be worth it! We thought we had everything done before the wedding. But all these little things just keep adding up in the days before the wedding. I have to say you wouldn't want to spend that precious time wrapping cookies.

i would say a few days at most. you might want to freeze them and defrost the day before the wedding.

If you keep them in an airtight tin, they can last over a week. I usually bake my christmas cookies a week and a half to two weeks before xmas and keep them tinned up.

i would normally say a few days... but i just saw something that made me think twice.

on food network, they had a holiday special where they showed how different 'everyday people' celebrate. there was a piece on a lady who bakes TONS OF COOKIES. she starts right after thanksgiving and bakes non-stop. she puts them in airtight containers until she's ready to give them as christmas presents.

so, i would now say that it depends on how you store them.

experiment. bake/buy the ones you want for favors. freeze, put in airtight containers, etc and see what feels, tastes, looks best the longest.

and if you need some help, send me a few to taste-test for you
