I think for a full mass and receiving line it would take about an hour and a half.

I tihnk it really depends on how long YOU make it. so many factors can come into play:

1. Do you have a relationship with the priest or deacon? If so that usually means a longer, more personable homily.

2. Will you have a lot of music? Will the psalm be sung or just read? are you having a song at the presentation of the gifts? a song at the Unity candle (if you're doing one?) A song at communion? MUsic adds time. . .

3. How many people present will be receiving communion... 20 or 200?

4. Are you presenting flowers to Mary's altar? Many Catholic brides do this and it can add a minute or 2 or 5 if you're having music there.

If you are having your basic 'bare bones' Mass I would say you would be done in about 45 minutes. i however am really making the Mass the focal point of my day and it will probably be about hour and fifteen plus receiving line.

thank you! All really good criteria to help us determine how long the mass will be. We are having a singer and string trio, so that will eat up some time. Probably a song for all the parts of the mass you mentioned. Probably not the flowers for Mary's altar... no offense to Mary - it's just all the way on the other side of the church, and my SIL tripped doing that during their ceremony, and I do NOT want that to happen! The regular masses with the priest doing our mass are usually about 45 minutes - including a TON of people receving communion and a really nice homily, so I'm banking on about a 45 minute to an hour mass. Then no receiving line. Just leave, throw some rose petals, take pics, get in the limo and go to Planting Fields to take our pics. . I'm hoping - with a 1pm mass start time
(putting 12:45 on the invitation), we'll be able to drive away from the church by 2:30.

Thank you for all your input!
