how long does it last?

how long does it last?

... nail polish, I mean. I have pretty nice nails as it is so i definitely don't wanna put fake plastic ones on top of 'em. But I DO wanna get them at least DONE with french manicure or something. The only problem is that with this wedding only 2 days after Christmas and my crazy schedule that week, I won't be able to have it done any later than a week before. What do you think???? Does nail polish stay on that long and still look nice??? I don't want it to be chipped and gross for my wedding, but i really can't go to a nail place any closer to the day of.

As you can probably tell, i never really get my nails done. I prefer to do them myself usually. And home done nail polish begins to chip within a day or two.

a good manicure should look perfect for 2-3 days. at the 5th day it starts to wear. 7 days you'll be chipping. it also depends on how often you shower lol. water, steam, and shampooing arent great for a long lasting manicure.

hmmm... maybe i'd have to put on some fake nails then myself the day before. I really don't want to though, but i don't see any other option

it depends, it should last a week but for most it doesn't. Also depends if the person doing your nails uses a basecoat and top coat. Ive had it stay on for a week and even more than that. But also depends on what youre doing, if you are cleaning alot and doing things that will chip your nails then it will.

Oh and also dependson what type of nail polish you use and how many coats they put on. The more coats they put on the easier it will chip. If its chipping and looking nasty after just a few short days then they're doing something wrong, it should last more than that. I did my own nails on friday night and it hasnt even chipped a little, and i did some intense cleaning yesterday, even scrubbing the toilets and cleaning every inch of our bedroom. So if i can make it last then a professional should really be able to.

If I were you I would get the permanent french tips.... the white is part of the nails so all they do is put clear over ur nails.... they look awesome for a good week and a half until they start to grow out.

Is there anyway that you can get your nails painted the day before? When I do french manicures on my nails (they are long and don't have acrylic or anything like that) within two days the chip from the white starts to chip.

Maybe while you are doing your hair if you go to a place they can do the french manicure for you.

i would test your nails now and see how it lasts.

I got my nails done the day before the wedding. I have real nails but they grew quickly and are long. Mine lasted me even on my HM, up until the end which was 2 weeks later it started chipping.

I have the same problem. I am getting married two days after New Years Day, so I am worried about my nails chipping as well. I am going to buy my own nail polish and bring it with me on New Years Eve to get my nails done, if it chips, I can always replace one nail myself. I hate fake nails, I had them when I was young, such an expense, and they destroy your nails underneath.

Maybe get that manicure at the very latest possible and get a bottle of polish that matches... you can retouch the areas where you feel you need to or redo certain nails.
