I have a question for people that already got married or who have been in bridal parties...
How long does it really take to get all of your professional photos done with the bridal party, etc (not counting the 'getting ready' photos?
My reception hall says 1 hour is plenty of time to take ALL of our photos. I would think this was true maybe if we were taking them all in the same spot. But my RH has at least 7 or 8 REALLY nice spots to take photos. I can't imagine only spending only a few minutes at each. I have a small bridal party, but it does have 4 kids under 7 in it.
So, for those of you who have done it, how long did all of your posed photos take? I don't think they will give me more time, so I am wondering if I need to book someplace else.

Re: How long does it *really* take
My photographer said to give him 2 hours for all pre-wedding pictures. We used the same guy for my brother's wedding and he was 100% right about the 2 hours. We weren't rushed, no one was stressing. It's always better to give more time than to rush photos.

Re: How long does it *really* take
I think it depends on several things. How many family members will be there for pictures? Do you have a large or small bridal party? Do you have a preset list of must take photos or are you more of a go with the flow person?
Personally, I don't think I'd want to do MORE than two hours of photos. However, if you have a large family and bridal party, one hour might not be enough.
I think we spent about 1 1/2 hours, but it went by in such a blur, I can't tell you for sure!

OOMMGGGG! It took like two and a half hours, and that's not counting the side-trip we took to the Brooklyn Bridge. That was another 30 mins. We don't have large families either (and only 6 people in the BP), but the photographer just kept snapping all these different combinations lol in the end I was regretting giving him the *must take* list! He had so many of his own that it was insanity!

Re: How long does it *really* take
I was in my cousin's BP a few weeks ago and I'd say all the pics took maybe 1 - 1.5 hours max. They did BP pictures first (that took maybe 30 mins), then sent us up to the bridal suite to get drunk while the bride and groom took more pics.

Re: How long does it *really* take
our tentative schedule is:
8:30-9 me getting ready pictures/dress pictures 9-9:45 me/FH pictures 9:45 - 10:15 pictures with bridal party 10:15-10:55 pictures with family 11ish sign ketubah w/ pictures 11:15 line up for procession
so we have about 2.5 hours of pictures, 2 hours of 'real' pictures

Re: How long does it *really* take
We did pics at OWG for 1 1/2 hours, with and without the BP We did parent pics and DHs portraits with each member of his BP at CB I did portraits and with my BP at my house.
I would say to do all the 'group' pics an hour and a half to 2 hours depending on how many people you have to take pics with, how well they listen to direction, etc.

Thanks for the feedback. I will let my RH know I need 2 hours for photos prior to the ceremony. If they are unwilling to let us come earlier, I will ned to look for an alternate location.

Re: How long does it *really* take
depends on locations:
Our house pics I scheduled 30 min tops, then moved to our location shot which I would of spent more time but it started to rain so we got in about a hour or so then we moved to the RH and we were a bit early so spent another 30 mins.

Re: How long does it *really* take
We took our bridal party photos for 3 hours, then 2 hours for the family shots, and just the 2 of us - a full day (before the wedding) We have thousands of shots in many different locations

Re: How long does it *really* take
we did about 2 hours of photos before the ceremony
then DH and i took 1 hr (the CH) to do our more romantics alone
and then during the reception--i actually asked the photog to take some more shots outside with DH and me again.
i don't think you can realistically get ALL the pics done for less than 2 hrs. w/o feeling completely rushed
