How long does it take for a school to let you know if...
you have been accepted into their program? Classes for the gradute program I applied to starts in January, so I am nervous.
Also, how do they let you know if you have been accepted? By letter?

I got a letter of acceptance for Master's and Doctoral programs, a few months prior to classes starting (both were rolling, so less than a month after handing in the app.). If you're getting financial aid you need to hand that in. How long ago did you hand in the application? Could you call them?

I've never applied for January admission but for Sept admission, I think I found out April/May-ish for both grad programs I did. I'd assume November. Check the school's website though, it should give you some indication as to when you'll hear. If not, I'd check with admissions just to get a timeframe. Otherwise you'll go crazy running home to check the mail every day.
