Get appts to view RH's? I was thinking to start looking the beginning of May. I want to try and hit a couple on saturday or sunday afternoons. Do I need to contact them now for appts. or calling say the week before I am interested in looking is ok? Since May is a busy month I'm thinking the sooner the better, but not sure.

hmm...when i went to check out my rh, i usually called the week of and they were able to fit me in during the weekends...but may is when wedding season is in full force...so it might be harder to ck out...
if you have an idea as to when you might go, might as well call now to find out

i dont think it would hurt to call now.. i called right after we got engaged and went the next weekend!

LOL.. yeah I'm also thinking in my travels I might just pop in to whatever I see too!
I'm so excited to get the ball rolling! I think May will be so great to start looking too... it'll be warm i'll get to see the outsides of places in full effect.. hopefully I'll catch some weddings!

i called in advance because it was hard for my family to have all the same times free, so i needed specific time slots... prob a week before is good?

I called about a day or two in advance. But i went looking in January which is off season. You should call a week in advance since wedding season is picking up.

I am in the process now of looking at reception halls and I usually call a couple days before. I think the earliest I called was a week in advance and that was only cause I was calling to see if I would be able to see the place that Saturday but there was no openings so I scheduled for the next Saturday. Good luck and have fun looking. Personally, I am feeling very overwhelmed by the whole thing lol

When I called a week in advance, my RH was booked in terms of appts for that weekend, but they were free the next weekend. I think it doesn't hurt to call now and set up appts for May

Def call first. some of the one wedding at a time places wouldn't let us come if they had a wedding that day.

I only went to one RH but I tried calling like am a month in advance and they told me to just call the week of and they will let me know what time is best for me to come in (depending on whether or not they had an event that day).
It doesn't hurt to call early though - just in anything to make sure the date you want is still open.

call and ask when they do appts. LOTS of places don't do weekends bc they have events.

ughh i hate that feel of uncertainty when you wanna do something, but not for a while!! lol Since it is popular wedding season, and I'm sure there are lots of other brides looking @ RH's as well as getting married in may, it wouldn't be bad if you called sooner than later!

your right, the worst thing that can happen is that you make an appointment for a month out. at least you can still go when you want to.
some places don't need appointments - just make sure to double check

Yeah I'm sort of finalizing my list and then i'm just going to call and see what they say... I gave myself a headache last night I think i've been to too many weddings I like alot of places...LOL I narrowed it down to nine based on price range, food , service, oh and atmosphere..ie: i like th egrounds , the rooms.. etc... FH is going to love gallavanting around I'm sure! LOL is 9 too many? LOL

I called and made my appts all on one day. I called about 2 weeks before to insure i would be able to see all 5 in one day.
