My daughter is still deciding between photographers. The one she likes says she will get her album 6-9 months after she chooses the pics and design, which could be around her 1st anniversary... Then they don't realease the negatives til a year AFTER she receives the album!
Is that about right? So any family that wants a picture has to order it through the photog, or wait almost 2 years...
It seems like a long time to wait to have pics after spending so much money...

Everyplace is different. She should also check how long it takes for her to get her proofs..

that sounds extreme.
i got ALL my proofs as pictures and on a CD 1.5 months after my wedding.
my album will be ready approx. 8 months after you give in the selections.

That does sound extreme.
Mine took from approx the middle of June and the album was complete in late October.
I get my CD when I am totally happy with my album, which I am, so I should call them.
I could have gotten mine sooner, but I didn't get them the proofs til June (got married in February and got my proofs at the end of March).

Seems like a long time to wait for the negatives.
We got our proofs printed out AND on CD less than 2 months after our wedding.
I should be getting my album soon, but the layouts were emailed to us soon after sitting down with them and going over everything!
If she uses Twelfth Night Photographers then she gets all the pics on a jpeg. She can go to shutterfly, snapfish, Ofoto and make her own beautiful album for 1/4 of the cost then a film photographer would. She would also have her pics on disc about 1-2 months after her wedding.
