I am going nuts now. My mom went in for surgery at 530 and I still haven't heard anything yet. I just keep getting told we will know soon... hurry up already

What type of surgery? it can take upto 10 hours depending on what it is...

oh it depends. they never really go in at that time. they have pre-op prep etc. then the whole surgery staff has to show up etc. that takes time.
what kind of surgery is it?
and...can you call the hospital? i did when my dad was in.

10 hours I could go crazy when Fh went for surgery he was done in like three hours.

What kind of surgery? Did you see her leave for the OR at 530? Or did they say she was scheduled for that time? Or was that the time she arrived for prep? Surgeries RARELY start on time, and depending on the procedure, the actual open time on the table can be 30 min to 10 hours. You can an another hour or two to that with getting into the room, anesthesia starting, reversal of anesthesia, extubation, etc. Call the hospital if you are concerned, they should be able to direct you to someone who can give you an update.
