How long does the HCG hormone remain in your body after a miscarriage or D&C?

Is it gone that same day after the MC or D&C?

Or does it take days, weeks?

I had an ectopic pregnancy and was given a shot to basically miscarry. It took 6 weeks for my beta to get back down to zero. It's different with everyone though. It probably depends how high it was in the first place...mine was 15,000 or so.

For me, the day after I started bleeding, my level was 128, two days later it was 7 and two days after that it was 0. BUT, I miscarried very, very early on. It all depends on how far along you were... if you were further along, presumably your HCG levels would have been higher, so it takes longer for it to come back down. And, if you had a natural miscarriage, and the HCG never comes down to 0, it may mean you have an infection or there is still remaining tissue.
