How long in advance...

About how long in advance should you order BM dresses?

I'd say at least six months. Some designers take even longer. Anthing less than 6 months I think would be cutting too close for comfort. JMO!!!

I just ordered mine this past weekend. My wedding is less than 4 months away and they told me it usually takes 12 weeks to get them in. The bridal place was going to charge my BM extra money for a rush fee if they didn't call with their deposit by last Friday.

I am definately not the ordinary but we ordered them in November 2004 for a March 2006 wedding

my BP ordered their dresses 4 months before the wedding. they only took 3 weeks to come in from David's.

I'm not sure what's considered normal...but I am getting married in September, and my girls ordered in November (weekend after thanksgiving). They told us 6 months for the dresses to come in...so that's around May...and that leaves 3 months to get 5 girls with different schedules in for a few fittings. Seems fine. Probably can still do it on a shorter time frame...but this worked for me.

I was told to have the orders in at the 6 month mark.

We started looking at dresses in January or February, but I don't think the order was placed until March. The dresses came in in July, 2 months before the wedding. I'd start looking now.

We ordered ours 2 months go and we're not getting them back until 3 weeks before the wedding. If I could do it all over again it would be definately 6 months in advance.
