so i'm starting to compile must play songs and I have a lot!
we have so many genres of music we want playing...so how many songs are you giving the DJ, or how long is your list?

Ours is about 17 songs, not including the first dance, last dance, etc. I just put them to give him a better idea. I was so lost with the music!

I have a huge list. About 20 or more must play and about 20 do not play.

I'm a crazy 2012 bride and already put together a list for my band.
I have a must play list of about 20 songs, another list of about 30 songs for suggestion and about 10 do not play songs/genres.
I think the more specific you are about your taste in music, the better idea your DJ will have. So, IMO, the longer the list the better!

We gave them a pretty long list as a skeleton and told them to do what they wanted with it. It's really varied and we hope they know how to keep the dance floor full

we had about 25-30 songs we listed for Must Play and about 6 Do Not Play songs. They most likely won't get around to playing all of them and that's fine. I probably won't even notice. We *starred* a couple that are absolute MUST play and the rest are if they can squeeze them in.

do this: split ur genres up and fill in every day, dont hand the list in for liek a month
Youre gonna wind up erasing/adding.
if youre dj is really good, then keep the list smaller
