I don't feel ready to start shopping for dresses yet, because I put on a few pounds and I am afraid that I will be discouraged if I start shopping now. We are planning a wedding for February 2010 so I have a year and 3 months. I haven't done anything yet except go look at one reception hall (which I love and we will most likely use) It's overwhelming how much I have to do. And being that I work in retail so does my fiance, we don't have coordinating days off to run around to different vendors. I'm worried that we're not gonna finish everything in time!

you have time. i would book your RH right away especially if you found one you are sold on because they are booking up fast.
keep in mind for some dresses, they can take up to 9 months to come in. maybe start browsing online to get ideas of what you like and then go in a few months.
i woudl do research on here about other vendors so you have an idea of what you want and you arent scrambling around like a chicken without a head. having an idea of what you want and dont want out of a vendor will really help you make the most of your appointments.
but do one vendor at a time...dont get all stressed. i suggest rh, then photographer, then dj, then florist then limo.
remember there are girls out there who planned their wedding in under a year!!

I totally agree. If you know what RH you want you should book it as soon as you can. I did alot of my research online on vendors. It helped when I went to book them. Do 1 at a time and it won't feel as overwelming. Dont worry, it will all come together you you will have a wonderful wedding.

Book the reception hall as soon as you can. I wouldn't wait past February to do so (if you have a VERY specific date in mind!) The other vendors can wait a little longer. The more important it is for you to have a specific vendor the sooner you should book that vendor!!

Definitely book the major vendors asap; like the RH, photographer and dj/band. Depending on the dress you order you can have it anywhere between 3 - 18months. Like I know St. Pucci takes 18months to come in but I hear Davids bridal takes a couple of months. So it really depends on what you want. Good luck!!!

I agree with all the other girls.....you should book all the major vendors ASAP so you know you get the ones you want. I would wait til February to start shopping for a dress

just get the reception hall done and you have plenty of time for the rest. Im getting married feb 14 and all the vendors...except the flowers said i am WAY ahead of schedule!
plus the dress you can wait till i think they say 7 months before cuz the makers arent gonna sell out of a style so relax about that for sure =)

book your RH before all the christmas engagements happen. your dress you should order 1 year in advance.

You have a little time to do the dress, but I would definitely book the RH as soon as you find a location you like. Then I'd probably figure out everything with the photographer next, but you can really take your time a little more with the other vendors. Maybe if you look at different dress styles online or just go one day go dress shopping for fun and see what styles look good on you. It isn't a rush just yet to order the dress, but as another person said, it can take up to 9mos to get the dress in, so you might want to start looking around come the next few months.
