How long should Save the Dates take if I am having a graphic designer make them?

We are using a friend of a friend for our Save the Dates. We knew exactly what we wanted - I sent her something I found, and all she had to do was create it. A month and a half later here we are - she sent me a proof, but it was on crappy paper, and I asked her, 'why would you send me the proof if it is on different paper than the final product?'. So now she is sending me a proof on the glossy paper that will be used. Basically, things just keep getting delayed.

Am I being impatient? I figure when all is said and done it will have taken 2 months to create and print out the Save the Dates.

I don't think you are being impatient. I had a graphic designer do my invites, and within a week of my first email, she had a gorgeous proof for me. Her prices were fantastic too - FM me if you want details...

It sounds like your friend is not doing you a huge 'favor.' Are you letting her know about your concerns?

as a graphic designer, i have to say that you are not being impatinet - i usually promise the FINAL product back completed in 3-4 weeks, and a proof usually in one week.

I'd ask her again how things are coming along!

You're not being impatient at all. You have every right to be upset. I suggest going w/someone else.
