That depends..
Legally - 3 months. Ceremony - 1 year 3 months.
Engaged - June 28, 2003 Date set for Civil Marriage - October 23, 2003 Date set for Ceremony - October 23, 2004
We've dated for 3 and a half years!

Almost two years...We were engaged on November 9, 2002 and we are getting married on October 10, 2004....

We are actually planning the wedding before we are engaged... since we want July 2004, and the ring is not ready, I finally convinced him that we need to MOVE IT on the hall... so I'm not engaged yet, though we have a date in the church and are working on the hall... so, if he does it soon, it will be 9 months, but it could be less!!!
It is SO weird to be planning the reception and not really be engaged, kind of anticlimactic. Anyone else plan before they were really engaged?
