How Many

of you are paying for your own wedding???

My FI and I are taking the responsibility and paying for our beautiful wedding in a tropical island. We both feel at this time in our lives that we do not have to rely on our parents to pay for our wedding since we are both full time workers. Our parents in the past have done plenty for us.

But then again I feel that others are very fortunate to have someone else pay for there special day.

We paid for our own. Yes, we could've used help, but when I see some girls take such advantage of their parents so they can be queen for a day I realize how lucky I am. (I'm not talking about those that had their parents pay, just the few that took advantage of them.)

I would say that we are paying for 90% of the wedding - and i am really proud of that!

my parents are helping us pay for a few things like my dress and maybe the flowers but the funny thing is that i am trying to get the least expensive stuff if i know they are going to pay for it

for example i was willing to pay any amount of money for my photo/video bc i am paying for that myself ( luckily i got a good deal though)

but when it comes to my dress i am trying to stay WAY under what my mom suggested would be her maximum. . .

sometimes i wish we had more help but then i realize how blessed we are with the help that we are getting!

John and I are paying for it and happy to do so. We would be happy if any of you want to pay for it also, or someone we don't know . I have six sisters so I have always known that it is my responsibility but my mom is buying my dress which is soo wonderful!

We are paying for every last bit of it - from the dress to the food and the pictures to the limos, dj, rd ...

We don't have anyone else that can or will do it! Oh welL!

FH and I are paying for it all ourselves .. my parents don't have that kind of money and i don't mind paying for it all .. that way we can do anything we want and if we don't like it .. its just us we can blame ...

FH and I are paying for it ourselves -my parents are helping where they can -my mom bought me my dress. -I won't ask them for it but it it's offered I'll take it.

were paying for everything, except my dress, my mom bought that already.. It would be nice to have help to pay for it, only cause trying to save fro ahouse and a wedding all at once is hard, but in the end, we can have the final say in anything we want cause were paying for it.. And i think i would have trouble listening to someone else telling me how to plan a wedding

My parents are paying for the majority of the reception (if I can get the stupid guestlist down they'll be paying for the whole thing!) and my dress but FH and I are paying for all of the vendors. We're definitely lucky.

We are paying for the wedding mostly on our own my parent paid for my dress and FIL paid for flowers. Otherwise everything is up to us! Yes we could use the money but hey at least I get what I want and no one could tell me no!!! It's what we want and that's it (well mostly )
...we postponed the honeymoon till January becuase we are also looking to buy a house...but hey you gotta do what you gotta do!

believe it or not, my fh and I tried to pay for everything and my parents threw a fit! They took it as a personal affront that we didn't want them to pay. We almost got into multiple fights over it, so fh and I gave in. How weird is that! Not your usual scenario.

We are one of the lucky one, but it wasn't suppossed to be that way.

We knew we wouldn't be able to afford it and were ready to go to vegas, just us our sblings, parents and gradparents, but my parents surprised and said they were paying for the reception...

I have a lot of respect for you girsl who are able to have the wedding you want and do it on your own.

We are paying for 90% of the wedding ourselves. My parents and FH parents have helped us a little but I honestly don't think they understand how much a LI wedding can cost these days. I am grateful for the $ my parents have given us and the few things my FILs have agreed to pay for. Every bit helps!

FH and I are paying for the majority of it ourselves but my mom is helping out with my dress (which I just bought this past weekend! =) )and other stuff that falls into my atire for the day like shoes, veil, etc.

I'm grateful that she is able to contribute that much considering my parents don't have much and they have to marry off me AND my sister within five months of each other!
