Re: how many

do you have the candies yet? if not, they seem to be about m&m size in the pic. Get some m&ms and fill a pail, weigh it and then times it by 60. Of course that will only work if you have a little food scale. If not, they have them open in the supermarket isle sometimes- bring your m&ms and pail to supermarket to weigh it...LOL

I know this sounds really crazy- but the sad thing is, I would actually do it..LOL

hmmm...
first of all, do you have any of the candies yet? do you know how big they are diameter wise? can you compare them to another candy?

are you going to leave the wrappers on?

if you are ordering them from a website, does it say how many pieces per pound? if not, can you contact them to ask?

i really like the idea of shell shaped chocolates. if that's your original idea, do you think you could get other people to help you do it? i think that'd be sooo cute and nice looking. not that the candies won't... i just love the idea of chocolate.

chocolate can also last a long time, so you could make it in batches here and there as long as you have a place to store it.
i know that a lot of candy companies make their holiday chocolates a year in advance, and also re-shelve chocolate that is over a year old.

it might be a lot of work, but if you just do a few batches every few weekends, it should be doable.

Is it really stored for a year ??? EWWW...ok so even though I have wierd germ issues I cant say that the EWWWW factor of it being on the shelf for a year is going to make me not eat it its just....EWWWW

If you dont have enough you can always do colored tissue paper in the bottoms to fill up the pails like half way then use the candies on top :)
