and do I even need to block off rooms. I don't have many out of town guests that NEED accomodations. Can I just let them know what hotels are around or is that not proper ettiquite?

i think all my OOTers are going to stay with family on the island so im not blocking room... we dont even have that many ooters but if they want info on a hotel, i'll provide that for them by word of mouth

same with us. we also put local hotels near the RH on our wedding website
