At first I needed bibs b/c we were using bottles, then I went to only bfding, so we didn't use bibs at all (although I did keep burp clothes handy for spit up and drool). Now that she's eating solids, I need 2 bibs a day.
So, before solids, it will depend on if you're bottle or bfding.

Re: How many bibs do you need?
DEFINATELY more... I BF for the first month and a half, and whether it was me or pumped in a bottle, my son managed to get his face and clothes all messy!! (sorry if it was TMI) He was born loving steak, hey what did I know! Anyway.. now that hes on solid foods and starting to self feed I SWEAR by the bibsters!! Good Luck!

I use a ton of bibs. Damien is a BIG drooler!!!! If I didn't constantly have a bib on him his chest would be soaked all the time. I got so many bibs at my shower so I lucked out
I hear it depends...but man did DH's cousin go through tons...it seemed that everytime we put a new one on...she'd spit up... murphy's law

I think I might have had 10 TOTAL that I used with Emma. She never spit up. She rarely drooled... to me bibs were pretty much a waste until solid food feeding time
