Im getting married July 3 at Jericho Terrace. Im trying to lower my minimum from 225 to at least 200 but they are like ' we cant do that.. nope not for that weekend, so many people came in for that date its such a hot date.' Im like ummm ok i didnt pick it for any specific reason, only cuz its the first weekend in July. I feel like he is just giving me a hard time and finding excuses to not budge on the minimum amount of guests.
any input?

im getting married the same day as you! at first when i went to book the date it was like 2 years till our wedding and they didnt have anybody asking for that weekend so i dont think they realized it was giong to be as popular as it is. and me same thing i only did it that weekend bc its the weekned after school gets out...but now i feel like they are starting to realize how popular it is...so thats prob why they saying that but id still try and see what they say.

Hey I'm getting married the same day as you (yay!)-- my minimum at the Woodlands is 200. If I remember correctly-- because it is 4th of july weekend, the woodlands used the minimum for a typical saturday. (I think the minimum for a Sunday is usually less than 200)
It might be hard to negotiate the minimum down because you already set it out in the contract, but there should be some wiggle room. 200 guests is a large group anyway. Maybe try to talk to someone else at the RH who can be more accommodating.

thanks girls! thats whats happening., they are treating this day ( Sun, July 3) as a saturday night price wise and minimums. I also chose it because its the weekend after schools out =) and i booked 2 yrs in advance so now JT is telling me that SOOO many people are calling for that date . haahah

i don't know how JT works...but when were negotiating with our hall, we tried to lower the minimum by adding extras
for ex...can we make the minim 175 instead of 200 if we do the seafood bar?

i wanted that weekend too originally but for sunday they wanted sat night prices... we switched to the next weekend... i figured if im gonna inconvience ppl to come on a holiday weekend i should atleast be getting a deal, not payng more...
if you cant get the min maybe consider switching weekends... if its that big of a deal!

the 4th of july weekend has always been a very popular date to get married. my sister got married on July 3rd last year at Leonard's but they didn't give her any problems with the minimums.
In order to get my minimum down, i added the VH and Raw Bar. I was going to add them anyway, but they didn't know that so they brought out min down

I'm getting married that day, too! We booked really early because of the holiday weekend, but when we went to JT they had told us pretty much the same thing for that weekend. When I first went in there and sat down with a BM they asked us which one of us was a teacher, and the BM said he figured one of us was because that's a popular weekend for teachers. One big reason for us is that we're having family come in from out of state so it'll give us more time to spend with them, to have a long weekend. I think a lot of people feel this way, which is why the halls hike up their prices.

We actually wanted to book for July 3rd because that's our anniversary. But it cost so much more to do it, and hotel prices were higher, so we decided to save even more money and do it February instead.

i agree with what everyone is saying. I guess I didnt think so much into it. Kinda just picked that day because I wanted a sat night and my mom suggest sunday since many people in my family own businesses and sat is more inconvenient . So thats kinda how we picked July 3rd. It was a mixture of so many things.. We added on vieneese but took off the raw bar since they didnt drop our minimum. Thanks for all the input =) you girls are great!
