it is actually all up to you. I personally do not feel there is a 'correct' answer to that. IMO I feel like I didn't want a huge bridal party because I did not want it to look like a sweet sixteen or in my culture a 'Sweet 15' so I have 3 but again it is what you want.

Again, like the PP said there is no right answer. If you are close to all fo the girls and want them to participate in your day then go for it.
HOWEVER---no matter how close you are to all of the gals and how you could never imagine in a MILLION years drama created over your wedding- I am here to tell you that that outlook is a fairytale. The more the messier.

How big will your wedding be? If you are going to have a smaller wedding, then that might be too many.

i agree with the girls who said there's no right number ...
but a side note: make sure you can afford to have a large BP. you'll need to get them gifts, and possibly pay for their makeup and hair (if you choose to), plus that's more people at your rehearsal dinner.

my sister had 10 girls all together and 10 guys it was alot of fun with a big wedding party, a little unruly and rowdy at times especially when taking pics but it was still so much fun it was worth it. we did take up the entire 1st pew of the church on each side that made for interesting photos lol

I am having 8 bridesmaids and 2 moh -- I hear people say that it can be stressful and there can be drama when you have a lot of girls but so far it is working out just fine. My girls are laid back (and so am I) and I am happy I chose to have them all in it.

I also have 7 and one MOH. To me, it was the more the merrier...3 of them are my sisters and the others are friends that had to be included

It is totally up to you, but my friends have generally thought that 6-8 was the magic maximum number.

you are the only one who can pick how many you want...it does sound like a lot just remember more girls means more drama!!! yikes.. also dont think that everyone has to be a bridesmaid or that they will feel bad if you dont ask them...i've been in plenty of weddings and thank the bride when Im not asked remember that its more money for you and usually more money for them as well
