How many days off from work are you taking prior to your big day?
I'm trying to figure out how many days off I should take before the wedding. I am assuming I'll need some time to run around doing last minute things.

My wedding is on Saturday, so I'll probably make Tuesday or Wednesday my last day.

My wedding is on a Sunday so I am just taking off the Friday before and then I will have the following 2 weeks off.

I am planning on taking 3 days before the wedding and leaving early on the day before I take off.
I am really crazy and have set a reminder in my calendar to request these days on 1/1/10 when my vacation days roll over.

I was wondering this same question.....I was told def take at least 2 days prior to wedding day for the running around!
My wedding falls on a friday so I was told to take Wednesday and Thursday off to do the last minute running around. Sounds good to me but Im wondering my job will let me....I only have a week of vacation time and im using that for my honeymoon.
Do jobs allow you to take days without pay you think? or does it really depend on who u work for?

I am having the same debate. Getting married on a Sunday, def. taking Friday but on the fence about Thursday too.

I would also consider how long you are taking off afterwards... I took a full 2 weeks off after for our honeymoon so I only took off 1 day prior (to not push my luck at work).. I'd say having 2 days for last minute stuff is pretty common unless you still have a lot left to do and need more.

Getting married on the Sunday of Memorial DAy weekend, and I will be taking the Friday off before, then the following 3 weeks after.
I am so not going to want to come back to work after being off work for over 3 weeks!

An a.ssload!!!!!!! My last day is Saturday and my wedding is Friday. My regular days off are Sun/Mon/Thurs so technically I'm taking off on Tuesday and Weds. I'm taking a total of 20 days off work!!!! I have like a week and a half of paid vacation/personal time left, then the rest is unpaid and I have NO more days for the year! Except maybe a sick day. I need it though!! I work crazy long hours, and so does FH. We're so excited!!! We're both off for that amount of time. It's all unpaid for him, but it's worth it for us to be together.

Three Days before (I'm a Sunday Bride!).. Plus two weeks after my wedding...

I am getting married on a Saturday so I am taking the Thursday and Friday off. I'll have to see/gauge how busy I am to see if Wednesday is necessary, but I am taking two full weeks off after the wedding so maybe just a half day on Wednesday.
