I'd like to start making appointments soon and wondering how many appointments I should make per day. How long do they usually take? Keep in mind I have no idea what I want. Thanks!

If its a decent sized bridal shop.....I'd leave yourself at least 2 hours to spend in each shop. I would say if you start early enough you can conquer maybe 3-4 dress shops in one day.

Each appt I went to took around 1.5 hrs. I found that doing more than 2 appts. in a day was too much for me. Just kinda went into wedding dress overload

I did three shops one day when I went dress shopping with a friend and it was exhaughsting. It's a workout! I think 2-3 is fine.

Are you going to the Pricilla of Boston sample sale in Roslyn this Sunday? I hear they have beautiful dresses. I am going & hopefully, it will be my last salon.

Wedding shopping is the best, especially when you are center of attention. When I went with my cousin we checked out 2 stores. Also, it depends on how many dresses you are trying out. Have you narrowed down your dress search?

Yeah, I'm going to start with Manhattan and then work out to LI and NJ. I have about 8 stores in the city to check out. Just gathered addresses and phone numbers. I'm going to start calling tomo.

The time goes by sooo fast when I was trying them on....We were there for like 4 hours.....I would rec 1 per day.....enjoy!

I'm not a big shopper & I hate trying things on in a store but my expereince was actually easy b/c I looked in a few bridal magazines to pick out the styles I liked and brought them with me so I could give the sales people an idea. It's important b/c they may have an idea of a dress that will flatter you but if you are having a causal, formal, etc wedding the dress may not go so it's good to give them a sense of your style.
After that long winded lecture, my suggestion would be to make 2 appointmant in one day and plan on spending an hour (or two depending how many dresses you want to try on) each and also give yourself travel time to get to each place.

I'm not a shopper either so I would recommend one per day. This gave me the opportunity to retry dresses on that I sort of liked. It also gave me the opportunity to sleep on it. It just gets way too confusing in your head when you try on so many.
I second making copies of dresses you like from online sites. It helps tremendously.
Also, bring your camera. I know a lot of the places do not allow for pics to be taken, BUT, if you can sneak in some pics you'll be greatful - just turn the flash off.

i spent at the least one hour and i was so tired afterwards. shopping in general can make you tired but when you have to try on dresses that weigh a ton....its even more exhausting...good luck

i only did 1 appointment a day b/c i was there for 2 hrs & after i was sooooo tired - there was no way i could go to another appointment

1 per day is definitely the way to to go. I did two stores in one day and needed a nap when I got home!!

Places usually have a set amount of time they will schedule you for. Usually an hour or so.
I tried on a number of dresses before I found on that I felt was more my style. There are a number of beautiful dresses out there.

I have spent about 1 to 1.5 hours at my appts. I would do only 1 or 2 appts in a day. It is exhausting trying on the gowns.

2 for leisurely shopping - 3 if you want to push it. Plan on 2 hours at each.
