Invites did you guys order? I feel like we are going to order invites in the next month or so - but won't send them out until May - I am sure we may add people by then? What's a good number to order extra? Thanks!

It is funny you should ask because I was thinking of order 125 which would be more than enough. My mom told me I shouldn't order so many. But I think maybe I might be short if I only order a 100.

Well consider that you need extra for errors, unles they give extra envelopes which would be nice.

We ordered 200 and sent out about 160. It's always better to order more now if you are having doubts otherwise they charge you an arm and a leg for more if not ordered in your initial order.

we ordered 175 and sent out 152 in total - its always good to have extra since it costs less to order more than have an additional amount printed up (a friend learned that the hard way!)

At least 25 extra!!!!!!!! We under ordered at first and got screwed. We paid a great price for the first 125 then got screwed for the next 25. So, learn from my mistake and order more, better safe than sorry!

always extra for error... it costs alot of you need to reorder only 25 cause of the setup costs.. but i guess you could always print up computer invites cheap if your short too...

I rounded my number up from 194 to 200 and then added 25 extras to that.

The woman we ordered our invites from said to take the whole guest list, divide it in two, add 25 to that and round to the nearest 25.
You will want some for keepsakes, your photographer & videographer will want one, and you want extra in case they get lost in the mail.
It's much much less expensive to have extras then to re-order.

'They' say to order an extra 25. But I think it depends on the size of your party. If you are having about 50 people, and extra 25 sounds like a lot. If you are having 400, 25 isn't that unreasonable. I ordered like 40 extra (just where my list fell). For the extra $10 now of peace of mind over the $100 later when I'm 2 invites short.

I hear the rule of thumb is 25 extra. I plan on rounding up also then adding the 25 just in case. Just like sun86moon said, if you have order more later, they really hit you with the charges!

I agree. I needed about 150 invites and so I ordered an extra 25, so 175 in total. Plus, I ordered extra outer envelopes - just in case I make any errors.
And where I ordered them from they said to place your order all at once, since it will be cheaper. Because the companies see it as a new order not as an addition to your original order.
