I haven't gotten that far with the band yet, but I think my split will be more like 60% fast 40% slow. I have no idea how many total songs that would wind up being. I think I will probably give them a small list of songs we MUST hear and for the rest of the time let them play whatever gets the guests dancing.

I haven't really gotten down to the nitty gritty with the music yet, but I would think that I'm having about 70% fast, 30% slow ..

Mostly b/c I want more of a party atmosphere, and I don't want all of the 'uncoupled' folks to sit songs out b/c we are playing too many slow ones!

i never told, but we definitely had more fast - maybe even 80-90% (not including dinner)

hmm.. not exactly sure but i think were only dancing to the slow ones together, so i'll want the dj to do 2 slow at a time..

That's a good question. I haven't picked any songs yet but I think it will be mostly fast...80%-20%

not sure.. but def more dance.. we just had the band leader feel out the crowd and play music according to that vibe.

I agree with Marcella, let the DJ or band leader feel out the crowd accordingly.

I don't think anyone can give you a definte number. No one knows how many songs are playable in a four hour period so just average, besides you may even change your mind on the day and decide you want more slow, less fast vice versa.

anyway to help you out i am having more fast then slow 75/25.
have to have people UP and moving around (so my MIL tells me EVERYDAYwhen i talk about music)

We had mostly fast songs...it was probably 85% fast, 15% slow.

We never told our DJ to play a certain number of fast or slow songs...it just worked out this way and we couldn't have been happier.
