how many favors to order? Help

I'm confused and am hoping you can all share with me how you decided the exact # of favors to order. I'm having a wedding of 150 people max. Not all are couples, and I feel single people should also receive a favor. Should I just count how many couples I have and then try and estimate how many singles I'll have? For 150, I am thinking of ordering 90... does that sound about right?
I'm having it at the milleridge cottage.

Good Question!! I need favor help too!!

Here`s my situation:
I`m also planning to have about 150 guests. We`re doing a donation which will go toward sponsoring an animal in desperate need of help. We`ll get a photo back. I was going to get wallets made of that photo and have an explaination put on the back of the photo. I also want bells at every place setting, but attatching a photo to each and every bell would get really expensive, and like you said about couples...I tought maybe they would get just one photo. But I do want everyone to have their own bells. Am I making this too complicated?? Should I just have a special table set up with an 8x10 photo along with the history of this animal instead of doing all the wallets??

As for the bells, how many should I order to be on the safe side, in case we end up over 150?

Here's what we did....

We are giving chocolates - one box per place setting. Since we assembled ourselves, I could add more as needed - and enjoy any extra chocolate!

Kel - I think your idea of the photo table with the explaination is nice. Do you have access to a scanner? You could scan the photo and shrink it to make little tags with the photo - or just use some representative clip art.

If you decide to do the picture of the animal, a great place in Buffalo to get photo quality prints off of a scanner is Kinkos....I think you have those in LI, right? When my father passed away that is what we did for the funeral...and it was honestly so inexpensive!

Duh!!

Thanks Karen H and Nancy!! We do have a scanner, just not a color printer. But, since we`ve been discussing printing our own envelopes, maybe we`ll head out to the store and see what we can find.

So, back to the bells ... any idea how many to order? The invite list will be about 200 with hopes to hit between 125-150 guests.

Thanks again!

Can you return extras?

Kel - find out what their return policy is - maybe you can return any you don't use.

I plan on ordering picture frames online and know I won't be able to return any extra's... For 150 guests, most being couples but some being singles, I'm leaning towards ordering 90 favors. That way, if it were all couples it'd be 75 and I'll have an extra 15 for singles. Does that seem right?

Just another FYI, you can send Kinkos a scannable pic and they will download and print for you in a glossy photo like finish!! You don't need to print it out or anything! I wasn't sure if you realized that! :)!

Linda,

I too had 150 people, some couples, some single. I did exactly what you suggested....count the number of couples (it sounds like you'll do one favor per couple) and then count how many singles. Always order 2-3 extra just in case, but I think we wound up with about 90.
Have fun!!!

how many favors to order? Help

To get an idea of how many favors I need, I'm just counting the # of invites I am sending out. Since I am doing the small wine bottles, I don't mind if I have some left over.

I am thinking about doing the bottles of wine as a favor as well and I wondering, can you tell me where you are getting the small bottles of wine from? Are you ordering them through a company or purchasing them at a store? Any info would be great. Thanks in advance for the help!

Wine Bottles - Jackie

I bought the wine at a local liquor store. It came in cases of 24 and the store gave me a 15% discount because I bought full cases.
I made my own personalized labels(3.5' disk label size is perfect) using Print Shop. I put the label on the opposite side of the bottle from the brand label because I want my guests to know what kind of wine it is. Now I am wrapping each bottle in clear celephane(so you can see the labels) and tying them off with ribbon to match my color scheme.
