well..here we go. again. My e-party is coming up next month and the party is a gift from his parents. (yay). Well I told my cousin Erika that her girlfriend of 2 years could come to the party but like two days ago, her sister asks me if her brand new boyfriend can come and I said no, i said yes to tess coming due to her being 'in the family' for a bit now. Now my grandma is all huffy with me..I am sorry but it's not a mini wedding!!!

Explain to your grandmother that Fh's parents gave you a certain # of people you could invite and you have reached that # and no one else can be invited

i think people really think these things are free....every person adds up and it gets to be too much money. just tell them you dont have the money for it end of story...or ask for some money from their money tree they must have growing in their backyard!

You have every right not to invite the new boyfriend. Heres the rule of thumb that we used: If its under 6 months, than invite just 1, over 6 months, you should invite both. Typically, an eparty is for closet family and friends that you plan on inviting to the wedding. If he is fair weather and not expected to last long, than don't do it. You are wasting money and she should be able to understand that.

I know, I finally talked to her and it seems like this has been going on behind my back. Like ooo she is doing this..she is doing that.. come on!!! by next summer she will be in love with the latest toy

Ok, well here try these: 1) Tell her no again and stress that Hot guys will be there
2) Tell her if someone responds no, than her date can come. Reason being that its not your money and its not right to do that to FH's parents
3) Tell her that you were not expecting her to have a boyfriend and that its not fair for her to think that you are made of money. Explain to her that things cost $$$.
4) And if she carries on again, tell her a very Stern NOOOO! and say if she keeps it up she will come alone to the wedding. Ohhh thats so Harsh.
See you have to gradually get mean. Grant it, maybe she doesn't want to go to it alone, but an eparty is for close family and friends. Sometimes new bfriends need to stay home until the time is right for him to come. And besides, she's so young! when I was her age, I didn't want to bring my Bf anywhere with me! Than I met FH and that all changed b.c I knew I was going to marry him but still. Tell her to get over it. lol.

ughh this is the type of crap i'm not looking forward to for my wedding, all these people wanting to bring uninvited guests....
just stand your ground and say no, there is only a certain number of people that you can invite.
