How many guest...

did you tell your hall you were having. A few people say to say more than expected some say the opposite. What are you ladies doing?

I told them the exact # that we were expecting, unfortunately we had about 6 no shows

I invited 175 and told them about 150. We've had 10 nos so far and we only have to guarantee 110

I am nervous we told them 150 and we invited 175 and no on has said no yet, and we have a lot of responses back

When we originally booked we told them about how many people we expected to invite (approximately 300). We have to give them an exact number a few days before because we have to pay for those guests beforehand (if we want to pay by check). However, b/c we met our minimum of 225, we don't have to pay for 5 people until the day of the wedding (those have to be paid for in cash). This gives us some leeway for no shows/last minute cancellations because if 5 people don't show up, we don't have to pay for them.

We had to guarantee a minimum of 150 and we made that. The week before the wedding we had 195 yes responses, but some very unfortunate family illnesses, heart attack, breaking bones, etc. made 10 people call and cancell. We completely understood.

We said we had 186 to the caterer because that was the number of people we had on the Thursday before the wedding and that was what we wrote the check for. 2 hours after we gave the check to the caterer, one more person called to cancel, and another called and said her husband could make it and he would be back from California so, could he come. We had between that time asked someone to 'fill in' like come but don't bring us a gift, and he did so we had thought we would have 187 people, even though we paid for 186, but since we had one no show so we had 186 and paid for 186 so it worked out perfectly.

We're having a large wedding, so when we booked, we gauranteed the hall 300 people, we actually think we'll have closer to 350 actually attend the wedding.

We guaranteed the minimum (150) only since we invited almost double, but soo many out of town people that we just made our minimum...it was no problem adding any so I am glad we did it that way!
