i had about 100 people at the church, maybe a little more. the receiving line took about 10-15 minutes. i wasn't going to do it but i'm glad i did because so many people came to see us who weren't invited to the wedding and i'm glad i got to say hello

We had about 100 guest at the church and decided not to do a receiving line, we dont like them and they take to long, we wanted to get going with photos so we can enjoy our wedding.
It takes approx 15-35 minutes for a receiving line in general for about 75-150 guest, but each wedding is so different, its what you make out of it......Hope this helps

thanks for the input girls! now ur responses, do they include the bride, groom and both sets of parents or just the bride and the groom?

Although my photographer said I didn't have time to do a receiving line, me and DH thought it was the right thing to do.

I had about 100 people at the church and the line took MAX 15 min (if that) Everyone kind of knows to just keep moving.

did ur parents stand in line with you or was it just you and fh?

We had over 100 at the church - I would say it took about 15-20 mins. We were happy we did it because some people came to the church that weren't invited to the wedding.

It was me, dh, and both sets of parents - the bridal party stood across from us.
