are you ordering one invite per every b list couple/person/family?
what if all your A lists say yes and you dont need b list guests? hmmm

i havent totally desided but i was thinking of ordering 100... im planing to invite 100(but most of those are couples) and then ill have extras for my B listers

i didnt have a b list by my empty-headed fh waited till after i ordered my invites to add 14 more poeple on! haha fortunately i ordered 125 invites and 135 envelopes (which i HIGHLY recommend ordering extra outers- we used them!!!). we mailed out 101 invites (196 people) so i have a few left over. works out good bc you never know if you have to resend some if they get returned or an extra person pops up you need to add on that you forgot or whatever...

I ordered 75 invitations, I plan to invite only about 65-75 people...I just realized I will only be using like 1/2 because couples make about 60% of my list...DOH!

I ordered 150 just in case you never know better to be prepared then not. But I can always change the amount when it goes into final production.

I'm inviting 165...and I ordered 78 invitations...I have alot of families of 4...and I may order another 10 invitations closer to the wedding if I am still working at the same place and will invite my office

woah woah woahhhh I noticed some of you girls are getting married around the same time as me next year...and you havve orderd invitations?!!? I wasnt going to do this till like...6months out?? Am i supposed to be doing it earlier??!

They say it's always better to have 30 leftover than 5, so overestimate. It is way, way cheaper to get them upfront than have a reprinting done.
We mailed out 98 invites (to 176 people) and I had 125 invites made. (FYI: Our final count was 107.)

i didnt order mine yet if it makes you feel better :) i think 6months is good... we're in the final stages and will be ordering within the month - no need to get urs yet -

including the b list, we are inviting about 190 people, ordering 125 invites but i think if we invited all 190, i think that would still come to about 120 invites so i have about 5 left over just in case. i doubt though that we will get to 190 ipeople to invite so we expect to have about 20 invites left over

6 months before is a good time frame. I only ordered them early because my mom is paying for it and extremely anal about getting things done early.
I would have loved to have more time to research other invitation designs and companies (like the 'invite lady' LIW brides here discuss ad nauseam) but we ended up ordering the invites from the 2nd or 3rd store we visited..Plus, we were afraid that if the company screwed up our invitations, we would have at least another 2 -3 months to order another set from another company for whatever reason..

I have about 270 people on my guest list (A&B combine). I'm ordering 150 invitations.
