We need, literally, 124 invites. SHould we order 125 and be done with it? There will no extras - NONE - and I don't even think i'm sending one to my brother or my parents...I do not, however, want to order 150 and then feel like we need to INVITE MORE which would be an absolutely nightmare.
125 invites is about 230 guests - which is PERFECT because if we have ONE PERSON OVER 200 the world just might end.
We ordered 100 and we thought we would have like 12-15 extra... we have NONE left unless you count the one I kept for myself.

I am kinda in the same boat...
As of now, I need 140 invites.. Do I order 150 and be done, or go for 175 just in case..
Two of my friends had to order more invites and it was so much more money for that first set of 25.... hmmm....?????

we thought we'd need 115 but we ordered 150 to be safe... i think we have 10 left. my parents added on a lot of people last minute.

i am sending out 82 invites, but i ordered 100. hoping that will be enough.
if i were you, i would order 150 invites if you need 124. much better to have some left over even if you're forking over some extra $$...
ETA: i ordered the extras not because i plan on inviting a single extra person - i actually can't, because i've already maxed out the space at my hall! i got them because i things get lost in the mail - a few people randomly didn't get my save-the-dates, for example. i feel safer having some extras to send out.

that's EXACTLY what i want to avoid - last minute add-ins. WHAT IS THE POINT!!! Guest list drama has been really ridiciulous for me and FH up till this point......I just want to be DONE at 125 and if he or his mom asks to add more people on, well then i have a really good excuse to say no!!!

I would just order 150 to be on the safe side, it doesnt cost that much extra to add them on & you really dont want to have any problems when you get closer to the date!
ETA - We had to send out about 120, but ordered 150, we're planning on sending the extra ones to The President & celebrities to see what kind of response we will get back - if any!

Originally, I thought we'd need 128 invites, so we ordered 150.
Then, when we had the invites reprinted, we ordered 125. We actually received 134, so we were very careful not to waste any.
Keep in mind that you may be asked to give invitations to some of your vendors for their reference.

why not order the extras, but just don't tell anyone you did? then if they ask you to add someone on, act all innocent and tell them you're out of invitations but you'll still feel better knowing you've got some lying around in case of emergency.

all excellent points...i forgot that there could be a problem with the UPS, or something! g-d forbid!!!
i know this is awful though - but if we did go with 150 invites, i wouldn't want my FH or his family to know that, because then they would want to tack on more ppl. last minute - THIS i know.
like i said, if there is ONE PERSON over 200 (okay, we could maybe deal with 210, but THAT IS IT) the world will just end. just like that! it will implode.

My friend is making me something with a few of the extras and I will give my mom and MIL one in their photo album....

I would go with 150 and not tell them! I personally think it would be better for peace of mind to err on the side of extra invites..what if one or two get lost in the mail? Also, I'd imagine you'd want to keep a couple as a momento of your day. Plus, your photographer probably needs one too!

I initially needed 149 invites, but ordered 175. I'm not sure how many I actually used (I ordered off a 'tentative' list and not the final one) but I'm glad I have extras...for no other reason than I stress and have nightmares so now I can rest easy!

We ordered 75, thought we only needed 45 and actually needed 56 so I'm glad for the extras.
