HOW MANY INVITATIONS SHOULD BE MAILED OUT....

TO GET ONLY 160 PEOPLE TO SHOW UP??

I HAVE 100 INVITATIONS AND ALMOST EVERYONE HAS A DATE...SO THAT SHOULD BE 200 PEOPLE COMING...?

I READ ON ANOTHER POST THAT YOU LOSE 15-20% OF YOUR GUEST? HOW TRUE IS THIS?

TIA,
Q

****I WANTED TO MEET MY MINIMUM OF 160. I WAS TRYING TO FIND OUT HOW MANY INVITATIONS TO MAILED OUT...

Re: HOW MANY INVITATIONS SHOULD YOU SEND OUT

do you know the exact # of people that have a date, because 'almost' everyone having a date is kind of vague. and not everyone you will invite will 110% come, some people may be busy, out of town, have prior commitments, wont feel well etc

There are way too many variables. Why not just invite 160 people and then have a B list if people say no?

MY DAD TOLD ME THAT IF I HAVE 100 INVITATIONS JUST ASSUME THAT EVERYONE HAS A DATE....SO I WAS THINKING THAT IF I INVITE 100 PEOPLEx'S THEIR DATE THAT WOULD EQUAL TO AROUND 200 PEOPLE....DOES THIS MAKE ANY SENSE

The easiest way to do it is this:

Count exactly how many people you are inviting with those 100 invitations.

Then calculate 20% of that number (so if you get, say, 186 people invited, 20% is 36, and 186-36 = 150.... if it's 200 people, 20% is 40, so you end up with 160 guests.

This 20% rule is not exact, of course. So the question will then be: do you want to have AT LEAST 160 or do you not want to go OVER 160?

If you want at least 160, I would send out all 100 of your invitations, assuming you are not inviting more than 2 people per invite.

But the question is: are you inviting anyone with kids? That brings the number up. Also, you have to indicate on each invite that they have an '& Guest' or the actual guest's name, or else people will assume they are invited alone.

NOW THIS MAKES SENSE...I DEF. DON'T WANT TO GO OVER 160.....
