My FH and I are having 200+ guests at the wedding, and I wanted to have 8 bridesmaids he thinks that is too much .. what do most people use these days. I know it is a personal choice just curious.

Re: How Many Is To Much?
i am having a matron of honor and a bridesmaid. that's all...and my wedding is 225 guests. i think that 8 girls is a lot. i think 4 girls is just right, but i couldn't make decisions and decided i wanted everything to be calm.

Re: How Many Is To Much?
I think 8 is alot but to each her own!! My good friend that got married a few years ago .. she had this big huge italian wedding .. and was afraid of offending certain people by asking one person to be a bm and not another.. she wound up with a huge BP and really hated it.. esp how crazy the pics looked! lol but she picked her bms for the wrong reasons..

Re: How Many Is To Much?
I'm having over 200 guests as well and have 5 BM's + my MOH. I've been told that's a 'big bridal party' but I don't really care b/c those are all of my friends and I would never not include all of them.

Re: How Many Is To Much?
I am having 200 guests with a MOH and 6 BMs (7 total). FH is having 2 BM and 6 GM (8 total). People have told us that that is a lot, but we don't listen to them. These people are important to us and we couldn't imagine our wedding without them participating. All that matters is what you think.

Re: How Many Is To Much?
You should have however many you want to have. At the wedding I went to on Friday, I think were like 5 bridesmaids, but there must have been like 10 groomsmen.

I have 1 MOH and 5 BM, and FH has 1 BM and 6 GM. Have whoever you want. It doesn't even matter if the numbers of guys and girls aren't even, you can always double up.

Re: How Many Is To Much?
JMO - I don't think the amount of guests should determine the size of the BP. I had one MOH and one best man, i would have done the same thing if i had 50 guests or 250 guests.
just do want you want, what your comfortable with!

Re: How Many Is To Much?
I don't think there should be a limit on how many you have. I have 1 MOH, 6 BM's and 2 Jr BM's...for a total of 9.

Re: How Many Is To Much?
I don't think it matters how many guessts you have. You should have your most dear friends as part part of your BP. can you honestly say that all 8 of those girls are yoru dearest friends?

Re: How Many Is To Much?
I don't think it should be determined by the amount of guests. But, remember, the more people you have...the more drama you have with picking dresses, showers, etc. Have people who mean something to you...not just because you want to have '8' or however many. JMO.

Re: How Many Is To Much?
I have 7 BM & 7 GM.
These are people that we are very close with and could not leave out. Most of mine are family.

Re: How Many Is To Much?
I agree that 8 is a lot but ONLY because its a lot to get everyone coordinated for dresses and showers and bachelorette parties. Its also an additional expense to you with gifts and flowers. I wanted 4 BM but wound up with 6 because my FH wanted 6 and I wanted it to be even.
I didn’t even think of my overall wedding size when I chose my BP. I just chose the people I was closest to, the ones who meant the most to me and whom I really wanted to be standing up there with me that day! If you have 8 people that fit the bill then its completely up to you!
THe more people that you have the more trouble you may have. I think it looks classier to have a small party but thats only me, if you feel you want 20 have em all its YOUR day!
I have one matron and one maid of honor the rest is not yet decided but I wanted to take this chance to show everyone pics of my two juniors and one of my flower girls, (my sister is preggo and if its a girl we'll have two flowergirls) Arent they cute...?
