I only have 1 MOH and 3 BMs. FH has wanted to include like everyone he has ever met, which is frustrating. At first, he had 1 BM and 5 GM, which I was fine with. Then he added another....and another....and another. I've now run out of girls to match the guys with so during the reception, two of the guys have to walk in together. My mom thinks this is crazy, she has asked her friends and they say that FH is ruining the wedding. I don't see it as that bad, but I keep hearing how this is going to negatively affect my wedding.
Any opinions?

1 BM and EIGHT GM
I only have 3 BM, so if I double up, that means 6 GM with 3 BM, and 2 extra GM....at this point, I don't care if they look gay or not.

i have 8... and it's partially FH's fault... I insisted on having 7 of his friends and then my brother... to be honest i'm only really regretting asking 1 out of the 8 on my side...

no number is too many (says the girl with 9 BMs . you have too many bridesmaids when you start asking people you don't really want to stand up on your wedding day to be a part of it. if you have 15 amazingly close friends that you couldn't imagine your day without, then have 15 BMs. if you have 2, then 3 is too many.

I dont think there is any number that is too many. I have 1 MOH and 8 bridesmaids. FH doesnt have as many...so we are doubling up.
My only concern would be if he is including people that are not solid friends or family. If they...no harm in including them
This wont affect your wedding at all. : )

well, I wanted 7 bms and one MOH, and I got talked down to 2 bms and one MOH.
THEN we see pictures where someone FH graduated with had....ready...
24 BMS 24GMS!!!
And everyone said I was too much??????
ETA: (forgot this before i hit post) I dont think it would effect the wedding unless you're fickle about matching numbers. I wasn't.

why did he discuss this with you before asking all those people?
i wouldnt add people just because FH has that many. only have the people you want in your BP because you really want them there. ive read so many stories where people regretted asking people. you dont want to look back at your pics and wonder why you had certain people.
for mine, i had 8 BM, and FH had 8 GM. (not including the kids) and that was perfect for me. when we first set it up, i had to cut someone out, which i hated that decision, and then put that person back in.

Oh, I'm not adding any more girls on my side....I'm set with my 4.
I'm just worried it will look silly if I have 2 GM walk into the reception together with no BM.
At the ceremony, the girls are walking in alone, and when everyone walks back, it's usually like a big rush of people, so I think it will just blend and no one will notice. The only time anyone would is during the reception when they get announced. And I'm only starting to care because my mom made all these comments to me that I'm running a circus.
