Personally, I'd rather get the ____ I registered for than the ____ I didn't!
I think in NY most people give cash as gifts at the wedding, but purchase gifts for e-parties and showers

yeah i would do the register for your shower i have never seen any wedding in new york that someone was bringing a gift i wouldnt worry about that ..
