How many last minute cancelations did you have? (spinoff)

?

so far, none for me ... but it's still early.

we had 1 couple cancel... the day i paid everything off. bc their son's friend cancelled on him for his birthday plans and he wanted to go to a baseball game with his dad instead. i thought it was cute and didn't really care bc i didn't include us in the count just incase someone cancelled. until i found out this kid is 18 years old.

I didnt have any... infact I had people call and ask if they could still come...

ETA: I did have people not show up though.

We had one REAL cancellation; that morning, one of DH's friends had a death in the family and needed to go out of state ASAP. He was really thoughtful in that time of distress though; the guy dropped off a card and gift for us at another friend's house (someone who was coming to the wedding).

Then we had two people not show up, plus their dates. So, four plus the above mentioned thoughtful person.

Didn't even notice it til two weeks ago, when I noticed that SC packed up any unused placecards for me.

We had two. Both were very reasonable explanations.

On the brightside though- we had two extra guests!! (One was FIL's friend who brought his son) and another was a friend we thought wouldnt be able to make it but was able to get off of work last minute!

So even though we had two cancellations we had two people come who we hadnt added in our final count. It worked out perfect!

are you counting you & your FH in the numbers? you guys count towards the min too

I only had 2 so far but that's because their grandson killed himself (RIP) so they aren't up for celebrating.

we had 2 cancel 2 days before cuz he had food poisoning.
we gave a lower count than what we expected so we wouldnt lose money

We did, and we're still slightly under. I'm still waiting for 4 more responses. Hopefully they're all yes and we'll be good again.

my friend's mom had a brain stroke like 3 days before my wedding so I figured my friend prob wont make it with her date; my uncle called on the same day and said he wont be able to make it due to work; my mom told me my uncle wont come AFTER I paid for him - would've been nice to know before I cut a bank check

AND I had a cancellation AT THE WEDDING: my cousin showed up for CH and had to go back home to finish a paper

yup. fun week that was

100% agree! i don't understand how this happens. This isn't a backyard bbq (which you should still call if you can;t come) but a freaking wedding. I will be livid if this happens to me!!!

2 couples cancel for completely legitimate reasons. Then we had a few no-shows, maybe 5 people altogether? Annoying, but on the whole, not bad.

We had 3 cancellations, totaling 5 people.

My dad's uncle (who was planning to come) passed away the week before the wedding.

One of my old college friends emailed me two days before the wedding to say she couldn't get a ride out here - she lives in Boston and was going to use her brother's car, but that fell through

Another friend called me the day before the wedding to tell me she had been sick all week and couldn't make it.............ahem.........Adriana...............cough cough, lol.

We had one couple cancel.. They're an older couple and the wife didn't feel good so it was understandable.. Plus one of my friends that just didn't show up

We gave 10 less than expected to RH the week before, with 7 cancellations week of wedding, we paid for 3 extras the day before.

We had no no-shows but we did have one couple that came for ceremony and cocktail hour only and left because they had a long drive home. They gave us a pretty generous gift though!
