How many marriage liscence do you get mailed to your house

I thought it was only 1. Or am I incorrect. Someone told me you get 2. A certificate and then the liscence. Any ideas Thanks

I could be wrong about this as I'm not up to this yet but I was told to request additional copies when you apply if you plan on changing your name. Apparently, Social Security and/or DMV only want originals and won't accpet photocopies. It's easier to request an extra copy or two when you apply rather than later.

Again, I read this somewhere in one of the bridal books but I'm sure someone on this site will know for sure.

They send you one. If you go to DMV and SS, they don't take the license from you they just look at it.

My church also sent me a certificate but it's not filed with the state, just the church.
