Ok, I am just under 14 months from the wedding now. I started looking online about 2 months ago at styles and designers I like. I am going to actually try dresses on starting in May and will hopefully pick one by June which is exactly 12 months from my wedding... i hope it works out this way and I find something I love!

I got engaged in December and wasted no time. started looking in January lol
I dress of my dreams was the last one I tried on, and it will be ordered the beginning of May
I tried on about 6 dresses total

I started about 11- 11 1/2 months before the wedding and found 'the one' within about 2 weeks of shopping.
ETA: I tried on about 8-10 dresses at each of the 3 stores I went to and that was it. Cancelled the three other appointments I had made for that day and the following week after I picked it.

I looked in Jan so that was 14 months
I just put the deposit down in Jan --- they will not order until July/Aug

some designers take 10 months for the gowns to come in, some take 6 months.
I would start looking around the year mark just to be sure. But really its whenever youre ready. You can always try to rush your gown

I started looking in February and still haven't found the one. Guess I better get on it, since i'm 9 months out

I would say serious dress shopping did not start until the beginning of 2010. I know my mom wanted me to order my dress sometime around April/May 2010 so at the start of the year I really started to look for gowns that may be the one and started tracking them down in stores to try on.
We are actually going to be purchasing my gown on April 24th so that would be a little over a year before the wedding.
I lost count but a good est. would be around 50-70 dresses. I've been shopping about 7 times and tried on an average of 10 dresses each time I went.

I havent started yet... but i plan to make some appts in June and July... one year before the wedding and hopefully that will give me enough time to find the one...

I started looking in November and fell in love the first time I went. I tried on about six different style dresses to ensure that I was happy with the dropped waist!!!!!!

i already ordered my dress and i sstill have 14 months to go. it doesn't take long to get your dress in once it is ordered. only about 3 months or so. i have to say i tried on about 10 dresses before i selected this one...
