Hey girls.. hoping you can help me with my momzilla.
My mother is freaking out about 'over-inviting'. She wants to invite only 10 over our minimum? I am positive at least 20 will not come! AT LEAST! (OOT, ppl from work, etc) What was the percentage of no's you girls had?
My guarantee is 200, how many should i invite? TIA!!!

The rule of thumb is 20% will not attend....but everyone's situation is different. We were actually right at 20%

we had about 24% nos. FH's family and his parent's guests are all OOT

We invited 231 people. 119 were OOTers.
We ended up with 134 people saying yes... so we were really at a 42% no rate. We were only surprised by a few of the no responses but most we expected.
If you have A LOT of OOTers I would add more people to the list.
ETA: And then only 2 out of 19 Yes responses who were invited +1 are beinging a date... so that counted for 17 Nos right there.

My minimum was also 200. We invited around 270 and got EXACTLY 200 people (including DH and I).

I would invite who you want there.. I invited 100 and had only 5 no's ...that is 5 percent no..So, it is not always alot of no's.. I have them coming from Denver, VA, Buffalo etc so some are OOT also.. Invite those you want to celebrate with and enjoy it...

We invited 98, we had 75 yes and 70 day of.
the majority of our no's were OOT.

but everyone's different as you see ... it depends on your guestlist. you can always have an A and B list.

Umm we hardly have any no's its horrible.. I was expecting a lot or at least 20 percetn and that didnt happen so we overinvited and got stuck with a lot of people coming!!
