arranging for a shuttle to take guests from the RH to the hotel after the wedding? I'm worried about people driving after drinking a ton, but at the same time we are on a really tight budget, and I'm not sure how much something like this would cost to add on to our limo package...any thoughts or info would be greatly appreciated!

check with the hotel because I know some offer it when you get the block of rooms.

As much as you want to think about everyone being safe and not drinking and driving its a big cost. We thought about it but we are goning to let everyone know a couple months before the wedding that they will need a ride home, especially the bridal party.

i haven't gotten prices for this yet, but we're defintely going to do it. there's a catch with our hotel's shuttle - you're required to book a minimum of 10 rooms but only get ONE shuttle van each way that fits 14 people. you have to pay for additional vans and trips. so we decided just to use either a bus or independent van company. we also loved the idea of the north fork trolleys transporting our guests back and forth.

My RH suggested a hotel for us that has a shuttle that goes to the RH but, I havent been able to get ahold of anyone there and heard some bad reviews. Im sure we also have to have a certain amount of rooms booked as well.

If you can swing it financially, it's always nice, but in addition I'm sure you, your parents and family members, and all of your friends, have all been to weddings and found their way without the bride and groom springing for that expense. This is a fairly new thing that people are opting for, but I can't remember ever having been shuttled home and either found my way to stop drinking as the night wore on, carpooled, or cabbed it.
You have enough to worry about that night and are spending enough money!!!
Another option is a 10 seater limo making multiple runs, might be cheaper.

Re: How many of you are...
This is a HUGE issue for FH and me. He wants it, I don't see the need to spend the $$, although he has no clue how much money this whole party is costing. My hotel has an arrangement with a limo company and it would cost about $1000 for the night.
Now...I'm sure we'll end up getting it, but I really don't see the need. It's a totally new thing and I feel like guests should be adults and arrange for a way home. My other issue is that I've been to a bunch of wedding where the bride ends up being to point person calling the shuttle. The last thing I want to do is track down a shuttle bus.

I never thought about this but I may do this. I am going to check with the hotel near my RH.

If it's around 250 i'd do it. But if it's 1000 they can find there own way We're poor I feel like I've been doing nothing but crunching numbers for the past few months!

I would like to do the same, but I just have to find out how much money it is. ALso I don't know how many of our guests will be staying over. I tis tough because most people going to our wedding are only about 25-30 min, away but it is still far enough.
