How many of you use...

the gifts that you got from your engagement party and bridal shower before your wedding? I keep feeling like this is bad luck or something. I have not used one thing yet!

I've used only a couple of things from our e-party. I haven't had my shower yet, but I'm sure we won't use that stuff either until we're in our new home (God only knows when that will be).

The only thing I used from my shower so far is an icing knife. Everything else needs to wait until after the wedding, I also feel like it is bad luck

I use the candle stick holders, picture frames and most of all
THE MONEY!!!
I don't think it is bad luck at all

ETA...if it is an engagement gift..what is bad luck about it?

I'm glad I'm not the only crazy one.

I haven't had my shower yet, but for my birthday my friend got me something off my registry (she thought it would be exciting and it was!!)

My birthday was in June and for some reason I still haven't taken them out of the box (they were Irish Coffee Mugs) - I put them in the 'wedding room'.

FH asked me the other night why we haven't used them yet and I said (without thinking) 'It's bad luck!' He just rolled his eyes and walked away.

I too think its bad luck!

We didnt use anything besides money before we got married!

we are waiting to get into our new apt. to use everything. The only thing we opened was a set of bedsheets. But..we were living with Mil & FIL...and MIL is a smoker so I didn't want anything ruined (and I'm superstitious)

I haven't had my shower yet, but we use all of the gifts we received for our engagement. I don't believe in bad luck!

We used some of our shower gifts already. Some gifts we will wait until we are in our house. I think it depends.....

We're using a bunch of our shower gifts. We just moved some stuff into our new house and stay there a few times a week. I've never lived outside of my parents before so if we didn't use the new dishes and pots, we would have nothing to eat from.
But, I refuse to use the new bedding until after we're married!

haven't used anything at all, but we don't have a place yet. everything is sitting in the boxes in my room. i love to look at it all, and think of how nice it will be when i can use the stuff.

I have used money, the gift certificates and a picture frame from my shower.
We didn't have and e-party but received money gifts anyway from family and used that.

For the most part I am not using any stuff until after we are back in the HM. We live together so have the stuff we need so after the wedding it will be out with the old and in with the new.

I will have to use the sheets, quilt, etc for the guest room and the sofa bed because I have 3 people staying at my house next weekend and don' t have enough extra pillows and blankets without opening those up. But none of our stuff will be used.

I don't think you are supposed to. We've only received one and it was by accident (purchased by an unknown person off of what we assume is the wrong registry) so we haven't opened it.

We've been engaged a long time, and moved into our new house 1 year ago. I didn't use anything until we moved into our house. But now that we are in the house, I use a lot of the gifts we received from our engagement and will probably start to use/incorporate our shower gifts, once we have the shower.

Wait a minute!! I just realized --- I lied. We've used ALLL our Engagement gifts -- just not the one wedding gift! And of course all the money!! But I will probably wait until after the wedding to use anything purchased off of our registry...
