How many out-of-NYers are there?

I will always consider myself a NY - even though I live in Florida...how many brides are getting married in NY even though they aren't living there right now? just curious

06'er crashing I live in Texas and got married in Long Island.

me too!! I live in Maryland/work in DC.

I was on the phone with a vendor today about meeting with them since I am coming up to NY next weekend and was kinda shocked when I asked for Monday and she said 'we aren't open then'... Im sure its bridezilla of me, but I dont see why we can't just meet for an hour SOMEWHERE to talk about stuff since I am only in town twice before my wedding. I expected vendors to be a little more accomodating I guess.

I hear ya!!! It was very difficult to schedule vendor meetings because of my short weekend trips up to NY. I am not even attempting to buy my dress in NY because that will automatically add more trips up there for fittings and gets flying up there all the time!!
I am in Richmond.

We met in NY, but now live in LA. Definitely not easy planning a wedding from far, but it leaves you out of some of the unecessary stress!

wow - there are quite a few of us on here. i didnt think the planning was too bad - but then again, my vendors have been very accomodating so it has helped a great deal!!!!

im a true NY'er but for 2 1/2 years now ive been living in san francisco going to school here so ive been planning the wedding from here

I was hesitant about buying my dress in NY too, but then I realized that I would have to be there for meetings anyway so it really didn't make a difference. I have a trip back planned for April and then I'm hoping that I will only have to make one more in May.

I live in MD outside DC too, BTW.
