Me and FH want to have a smaller wedding... with only 100 or so people. We HAVE to gaurantee 100 ppl. SO how many should we invite? How many usually dont come?

I'm a little confused about this as well b/c im having the same amount of ppl as you. I was going to invite like 120 b/c i heard about 20-30% ppl dont show up. So I would invite more ppl that way you can at least hit your minimum...

when I went looking for rh places all the ppl told us that usually 20-30% of who u invite say no. I guarenteed 145 so Im going to prob invite 170-175. I would prob invite like 125-130 to get 100 but you can also kinda know who isnt going to come go by who u know is def gunna come then add or cut accordingly. Good luck!

yea... thats the thing. My FH keeps telling me everyone in his family (and friends) are definates! Whereas my side... i have no clue! many people in my family (unfortunately) are very unreliable! This is our biggest problem right now! He's afraid were going to end up paying for all the extras because they are going to show.... I want to have extras so at least we know we have enough ppl!

im having 100 people(hopefully!) but FH family is really unrelieable so im confused on this as well... i plan on having 120people on my A list and they will all get the invites at the same time and then as no's coming ill start to send out invites from my B list untill 100 have said yes(we'll see if this plan works out)

I had around 75 guests out of 90, so I would say at least somewhere around10+ that most likely will be a no show/won't make it, etc.

I negotiated with our RH to lower the minimum required to 75 since we are in the same boat and only invited a little over 100 people.

hmm we have to guarantee 200. so i think we are inviting 240. we havent looked at our invite list in a while!! im not even sure we have 240 people to invite haha

they say the rule of thumb is 20% no rate but I have to say if you ask the rest of the 09 girls many had a higher rate of no but I know a few had less than that.
I guaranteed 125 Invited 180 and had 130 show up.

Our minimum is 100, we invited about 140, but a LOT of htem are out of town, so I know they probably wont make it.
Like of my family of 16 in Florida (mom, grandma, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) only 5 are able to make it. And we have already had some others come back no, so we would be looking at most at 125, if no other nos come in (and we still have OOT people who we havent heard from)

I only have a minimum of 75 I believe. We're inviting 110 the most. I had people from my side who never responsed or just didn't show up to my engagement party so the majorty of the people at my wedding will be from FH's side..oh well.

We're inviting 193 right now (it grows daily) including +1s and have to guarantee 150. Originally I wanted to make sure we invited 175 people.
You can always consider having a B list in case you get more 'no's than you expected. Or you can just invite all of us.

We invited 243 (but this includes inviting people with a guest, and we knew they wouldn't bring one). We have 163 yeses, including us, and our guarantee was 155. We are surprised we are as low as we are.

THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES. We had people who were 'definitely' coming and TOLD us as such until we received their RSVP no's. So don't think that anyone is a definite. Plus the week of the wedding you will get cancellations - we had some people sick and some people with deaths in their families.

We invited 176 people and had 105 come (4 were last-minute no's -- death in family and car accident).
We had a 100 minimum.
It's really a tough call trying to get the #s right. If you want to plan for about 100 people there, try to have a 75 minimum, not 100 minimum.
