Our room fits 200 people. How many people you would suggest inviting?
We want to fill the room but not go over!

i think it all depends on how many ooter's you're inviting... me, for example, dont have too many so my no rate will probably be smaller...

I would say invite 200 maximum because about 20% will not be able to come. I would try to have no more than 175 guests there. If a place's maximum is 200 then at 200 it may be a bit cramped. HTH

Rule of thumb is that 10% of people you invite to a party will not come. I would suggest inviting like 215-220. THis way you will have people that will not show up and you can fill the room. What is the number of people that you have to guarantee

Our room fits 250 we are only inviting 170 b/c those are the people we want. We are not inviting people to fill the room b/c then you have to pay for them. I would only invite who you want to be there!

Yea because you don't want to pay for ppl who will just be a body in the room and just complain all night! Just stick to your min guarantee!

invites up to 200 people and see how the RSVP responses are, sometimes people think an invitation for two is actually for an entire family. so with the possibility of people replying No (15%) and then any extras you might just fall at a good number. you can always send out more invites later on if you need more people.

Problem is we could easily invite 250 important guest, but we're trying to think of a reasonable number. I'm thinking 220 (maybe invite 200 initally and 20 people on the B list) Just to be safe!
It is a semi-destination wedding, so either we'll lose a bunch of people or everyone will think it's a great idea to spend the weekend out there. ha ha
