We have a 175 person min. for our RH and right now with guests we have a total of 264 people. I feel like we need to invite more to reach our min. I know many people will no bring guests even thought we are inviting them with a guest.
Am I crazy to think we should invite more?
Please give me some feedback.
TIA

I think you will too, but here's something someone told me as kind of a good way to gauge, especially if you know you're inviting a lot of people who absolutely won't come. Go through your guest list, and for everyone who you think will come, put a 1, everyone who you think might come, put .5, and everyone who you are SURE will not come, put a 0. Add it all up and see what you get.....of course this is just an estimation, you never know who's going to respond, but it helped me really think about the guests and who I really thought would be there....

i agree, go through your list. There were many i know already that are coming and are definite. Theres some i know from now might not come and some who i know for a fact wont come but sending an invite as a courtesy. Some will always surprise you and say yes when you didnt think they would and vice versa. but there are many you do know about ahead of time.

Re: How many people to invite?
our minimum is 175 and we have 214 on ourlist as of now - we might add a few more people and invite about 225-230 - we DO NOT want to go over 175 - we rather be under - even if we are under we know exactly how much we owe the RH and we can at least try to get some more thrown in - i rather that happen then have to pay them even more money!

my min is 275. We invited a little over 300. We were supposed to invite more but just 2 weeks ago i was told that no 2nd cousins are going to be invited on fh's side. The thing is that fh's dad is the youngest of 7 kids, so alot of fh's cousins are older, infact fh and his brother are the youngest. So many of fh's 2nd cousins are around his age and who he hung out with. So now i was like OHHH ok, hopefully we can still make our min hahaha.

i agree with going through your list. we have a lower minimum (160) and are inviting 300+ people, but a bunch are OOT and we know a lot won't be able to make it. We're still expecting to go over the 200 mark. I'm really curious to see who comes.

i also would rather be a little bit under than over. I already have it set in my head what i owe the RH, i dont want to add to it

exactly even if we go over 15 people its another 2K so at this point i rather be 15 under than 15 over...

Re: How many people to invite?
Our min was 250. We knew that our room could hold about 340 max without being crazy squishy. So we invited around 340, just in case everyone said yes (which at the time seemed like it could have potentially happened)

I rather be a little under also, but not by much. I guess I just estimated by half and I started freaking out.

Thank you...I'm going to do that. In the meantime i started creating a B list on my side and I know FH has co-workers he wants to wait on inviting..

Re: How many people to invite?
Its kind of hard to say. Our min is 150. We invited about 250, and the whole time I was anticipating about 200. Now that the responses are mostly in, it looks like we are going to end up with about 175.

Re: How many people to invite?
Have you sat down and gone through that list to consider who definitely will not come and who may not come.
I would start there before you add more to your guest list.
