Re: How many people usually RSVP no...
20% is the standard number, Paige. More if a destination wedding, near holidays, etc...

Re: How many people usually RSVP no...
It really depends on the number of people who are out of towners and obligatory invitations you have to send out. Our minimum was 125 and that was our goal. We ended up inviting 155 people. In the end we had 109 guests who came. That was about a 70% acceptance rate and a 30% decline rate. To mix this up even further, the 155 number was originally 179 in our calculations because we invited anyone who was single with the option to bring a date (the majority of people who were single chose to not bring a date). We did have a lot of out of town guests to invite and family that we had to invite--in the end the majority of our out of town guests came, but not that many family members. We did plan for a 20% decline rate. If I had know how high our decline rate was going to be--particularly the number of friends who transitioned out of relationship between the time we sent out the invitation and the wedding, I would have invited more of our friends who we couldn't include originally due to having to invite family.
Wow! That was long....I hope this answers your question.

Re: How many people usually RSVP no...
we invited 260 and have an approx. total headcount of 165-170...we have a lot of OOT guests and our wedding is also on a sunday... that maybe contributed to the higher 'no' %
