How do you decide how many photographers you need? I am getting married in a small venue...about 100 people total... I would think I would only need 1 but how do I know? Is it based on people, size of the place, etc.?

Re: How many photographers??
The photogs I spoke to said they recommend a 2nd photog if I had more than 150 people.

If you have less than 150 people - you are fine with one!!

Re: How many photographers??
My photographer included the second photographer, it's afamily business so I guess they just work together anyway. I'll be able to get a nice mix of traditional and photojournalism pics. However a wedding of 100 you should be fine with just the one.

Re: How many photographers??
I don't see how the number of people at your wedding dictates how many photographers you need. You aren't going to want a million pictures of every guest.
We have 2 photographers because we want one with each of us getting ready, instead of only one with me. We also wanted a mix of tradiational and photojournalistic shots - so we have one very artistic photographer and one who is more traditional in style (from the same studio).
Most people I know only have 1 photographer and that's plenty!

You may want to concider a second photographer if you and your FH are not seeing eachother prior to the wedding and want pictures of both getting ready and then the reactions of both as you see eachother accross the isle for the first time...if you are want you can FM me for rates.

I think the photographers are the best ones to answer that...

Re: How many photographers??
it's really just a personal choice....i didn't really go by guests...my photographer automatically came with two - but i would've definetly paid extra for the second photographer. While are main photographer was posing us and whatnot, the second one was snapping candids, zooming in & getting cool shots etc. i think it really depends on the style u want....we wanted a very candid photojournalistic style so a second photographer was a must for us....it was also nice because in the morning our second photographer went to the grooms house

Re: How many photographers??
we are having a small wedding with only about 70 people but we have a 2nd photog for the house, church and before the reception to capture the candid pics while the main photog takes the formal pictures. we hope this will work out well. We also hope that with 2 they might be able to get shots in the church from different angles. We will see. We were fortunate to find a photog that did 1/2 days for a 2nd camera which is why we went for that. HTH

Exactly what I was going to say. It was important for me to have 2 photographers to capture us getting ready and its great to have a little variety in the photograph style. Many people have one photographer and are extremely happy! Just go with the photographer you love and talk to them about your concerns. They should be able to make you feel better about whatever decision you make!

7?? Wow! How many photos are you putting into your bridal album? With 7 photographers snapping away, you're going to have at least 5000 photos to choose from!

Re: How many photographers??
We had 200 people & only 1 photographer & his assistant. If it's a good photographer you don't need more then one. Mine was great, he caught every moment & took about 1,000 pictures. sometimes they're just trying to get more $ by saying you need more then one.

Re: How many photographers??
Remember when it comes to Photography don't go by price go by quality, You can never redo that day! My photographer doesn't advertise, he all by word of mouth which is the best recommendation you can have.
