I'm really not interested in dragging out the process for finding one.. but it's so against my nature to not do extensive research and have several comparisons for everything... Is it risky to just book the first one I like??? I have a feeling I will want to.
Trying to get a feel for what you ladies did and think about it...

I only visited two. I have been like tis with every vendor. If I find someone I like and price is right, I book it. I don't have patience tor research a zllion vendors and agonize.
I spent exactly 2 days looking at reception halls. The first time, I went to one hall and loved it and went to another one just for fun, booked the first one.
Second time around I visited 3 in one evening and booked the 3rd. People who say they have visited 10 or 20 halls make my head spin,
We're visitng exactly 2 videographers
I have my DJ list narrowed down to basically 2 since I want to use a house DJ and we met with a bumch at a bridal showcase and narrowed it down that way.
I ordered the 1st dress I tried on (but now I am sort of agonizing over this, but that was bc I won the dress and was limited in selection to one store)
I don't agonize over things. if I like it, I make it mine, just like with FH!

He did 4 of my girlfriends weddings, so I have knows for almost 3 years that i wanted him to do my pictures. We booked him on the spot, got a great vibe when we met him.
I might not be helpful, but i guess when ya know, ya know. Go with your gut. If you like someone when ya meet them, and they show you good work, no need to hunt around and drive yourself nuts. The grass is always greener ya know...and it may cost more to maintain LOL

I'm like you - I like to do a lot of research, look into everything possible and only make a decision once I feel like I'm getting the most for my money and found someone I love and trust. I met with 2 photogs 2 months ago (after doing a lot of research) and since I live OOT and haven't been back to LI since the holidays, I've been doing more research and honestly - its driving me crazy. There are soooo many talented photographers out there that you can drive yourself bananas if you start doing too much research. I feel like if the price is right and you love their work, they have great reviews, and you feel comfortable making a decision that you hopefully won't second guess, go for it. As long as you found a photographer you're happy with, I don't think it matters if you met with 1 or 100. If you feel like you have to do tons of research, I'd just start emailing photogs whose work you like, see if they're in your budget and go from there. The appointments can take up a lot of time, but if you're up for going to tons of appointments - go for it! hth

I was very lucky. I was my cousin's MOH & I booked her photographer. I was so impressed with him that day & the photos once I saw them, that I just mailed him a check for a deposit. I didn't bother to meet with him.

we met with three, but that was probably even too many..loved the first one, i guess its a good way to get a spread of prices...which i have to say were significantly different!

went with the first one and booked on the spot. i really loved their work before hand and it was reasonable so I booked. We usually dont see more then 3 to 4 vendors anyway. I feel the more people you see the more confusing choosing is going to get.

Only one!! I did a lot of research beforehand and knew before FH and I met with her that I wanted to book her. During our meeting FH and I really clicked with her so we booked!

We booked the first photographer that we met with. I knew that I loved his style from reading other bride's reviews and seeing pictures. I did contact a few others, but the price for what we are getting doesn't compare to anything else.

I researched a ton, got quotes from a bunch, but only ended up meeting with the one I booked.

I just did the same exact thing. In fact, I just got home from meeting the 2nd photographer and emailed the 1st photographer to let her know I wanted to work with her. I knew as soon as I met her, she was the one, but the 2nd meeting solidified my decision.
