How many place settings?

How many place settings?

I originally registered for 12 formal and 8 casual. Through our engagement we've gotten 7 formal and all of the plates for the casual (missing cups and saucers and fruit bowls). I think people will want to buy us china, plus I know things do break, do you think I should raise it to 12 for casual? If I plan to do a lot of entertaining, should I make the formal more than 12?

I originally wanted to do 16... 14 to entertain 2 as back up in case it breaks.. but everyone is telling me 16 is too many and I thought about it... and I think I might drop down to 12.

Added: I am also sticking to 8 for casual.

I think 12 is perfect for china. I did 12 dinner plates for casual, but only 8 salad plates and bowls. I figured I would def get the most use out of the large plates.

ITA. You can never have too many dinner plates and glasses! But 12 should be fine for the formal.

I have 8 for my casual wear and we never use them all.

I think you are fine with what you registered for! I think mine ended up being more but only because I went with a box set.. not individual place settings.

ITA 12 and 12 is perfect.
People might buy other items off the registry if the china is all purchased so unless you really want it, don't add it.

we registered for 12 formal & 6 casual.

if you think you need to add more stuff to your registry for your shower, then you should add extra bedding.
