Hi ladies, the tables for the reception are 72' round. the hall suggests sitting 10-12 per table. does anyone know if 12 per table will be too cramped?
TIA!

Re: how many ppl per table
I have anywhere between 9 and 12 people at a given table. I think 12 will be OK.

12 is fine. More than 12 will be cramped.

Re: how many ppl per table
i'm probably gonna have 12 per table also. It doesn't seem like it's gonna be crammed at all, plus that makes it a little less CPs for me to pull together

Re: how many ppl per table
im assuming a 72' round table has a 72' diameter, which means it has a 18.8 foot circumference. divide that by 12 ppl...........and each person has a little over 1.5 feet to his/herself. which i think is fine. elbows shouldnt touch :)

Are you a math teacher? It definitely sounds like that should be enough room.

Re: how many ppl per table
I was wodnering the same thing and wanted to have 8-10 per table....until I realized it would increase the cost of centerpieces! 12 should be ok.

Re: how many ppl per table
We had 12 at some tables and people seemed to be ok. Usually if you have more than 12, they go to bigger tables\.

Re: how many ppl per table
we're having one 72' table for FMIL's friends they have to sit with each other so our coordinator suggested 72' for 12 people.

Re: how many ppl per table
We're using the rectangle ones rather then the rounds ones... they seat 10... I'm cluesless about the round ones... Sorry...I'm no help at all. HAHA

Re: how many ppl per table
If your RH tells you that it seats 12, then most likely it will be comfortable with 12 and no more.

Re: how many ppl per table
I was just at a wedding on a 72' round table with 12 ppl. It was very cramped and there we were all relatively small ppl. I am so glad I saw this at the wedding bc now I am only doing 10 per table.

Re: how many ppl per table
try and do 10 and only 12 if you absolutely have to. Every wedding or function I have been to the tables are always too crowded. If the RH tells you 12 aim for 10.
