In my search for a photographer.. I keep on coming back to this question.
How many proofs are normal. The photographer I want has told us we will get about 250 proofs. Mark Kaufmann, on the other hand is all about snapping and says that it should be 1,000. While I don't agree with him on other issues, I'm concerned that 250 is not enough.
We're having a small wedding, just a best man and maid of honor, 100 guests, ceremony and reception at the same location, none of the 'pictures at the brides house' stuff..
So, I'd just like to get a general idea of what everyone else thinks (and is getting).
250? 500? 1000?
Thanks...

Unless you are on a tight budget, I would expect to see 500+

I look at proofs this way - you are paying for their service - and if your photographer plans on spending 10 hours with you then 250 proofs means they took 25 photos an hour. I think that is very little - you need to judge what you think is fair

Re: How many proofs is normal?
I am on a very tight budget and am having a small wedding as well, but most of the photographers that I have been looking at that are in my price rannge, vary from 275 to 600 proofs. That seems to be about average from what I have seen. I am still searching for a photographer and will begin meeting with them starting this saturday. I figure bewteen the table cameras and 600 proofs I should have plenty of pictures to choose from! Best of luck to you in your search!
